Molecular Sieve 5A

Molecular sieve 5A refers to a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate, also known as CaA molecular sieve or zeolite molecular sieve 5A. It is the calcium-exchanged form of type A zeolite and features a uniform a pore opening of approximately 5 angstroms (0.5 nm). Type 5A molecular sieve adsorbs molecules with a kinetic diameter smaller than 5 angstroms, while excludes other larger molecules.

Zeolite molecular sieve 5A exhibits a strong affinity for polar molecules and can effectively adsorb water, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, alcohols, hydrogen sulfide, methyl mercaptan, ethyl mercaptan, and other impurities. It is an efficient adsorbent and separation material for a wide range of industrial applications, such as PSA hydrogen purification, PSA oxygen generation, natural gas dehydration and purification, hydrocarbon drying, and other air separation systems.

One of the most important characteristics of 5A molecular sieve is its ability to selectively adsorb linear paraffins while excluding branched and cyclic hydrocarbons. This property enables efficient separation of n-paraffins from iso-paraffins and other hydrocarbons, making it an essential adsorbent in petrochemical processes such as paraffin separation and feedstock purification.

In addition to its outstanding adsorption performance, type 5A molecular sieve possesses excellent mechanical strength, abrasion resistance, and regeneration capability. Molecular sieve 5A also demonstrates excellent thermal stability and hydrothermal stability under elevated temperatures and pressures.

 

5A molecular sieve is commonly known as CaA molecular sieve, can adsorb any molecule with diameter less than 5 angstroms. Mainly used in n-isomeric hydrocarbon separation, PSA separation, and co-adsorption of water and carbon dioxide. With high selective adsorption and fast adsorption speed, SINMAT 5A molecular sieve is especially suitable for pressure swing adsorption(PSA) industry, which can adapt to any size of oxygen, hydrogen, carbon dioxide and other gas production PSA devices.
