Molecular Sieve 3A

Molecular sieve 3A, is a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate, also known as KA molecular sieve or zeolite molecular sieve 3A. It is the potassium-exchanged form of type A zeolite and features a uniform pore opening of approximately 3 angstroms (0.3 nm). Type 3A molecular sieve adsorbs molecules with a kinetic diameter smaller than 3 angstroms, while excludes most other larger molecules.

Molecular Sieve 3A

The most notable characteristic of 3A molecular sieve is its exceptional selectivity for water molecules. Since the kinetic diameter of water is about 2.8 angstroms, it can easily diffuse into the pores and be strongly adsorbed. This unique molecular sieving effect makes 3A molecular sieve one of the most efficient and reliable desiccants available.

In addition to its high water adsorption capacity, 3A molecular sieve offers excellent thermal stability, mechanical strength, and resistance to contamination. It can maintain outstanding adsorption performance under demanding operating conditions and can be regenerated repeatedly through heating, providing a long service life and reducing operating costs.

3A molecular sieve can be formed into beads, strips, and other shapes, to meet different industrial requirements. It has wide applications in ethanol dehydration, natural gas dehydration, cracked gas drying, refrigerant drying, insulating glass production, pharmaceutical processing, and general industrial moisture removal.
