Molecular Sieve 13X-APG

Zeolite molecular sieve 13X-APG is a crystalline aluminosilicate, the sodium form of type X zeolite with a uniform pore size of approximately 10 angstroms (1.0 nm). APG stands for Air Prepurification Gas. Zeolite 13X-APG is a specially engineered type of 13X molecular sieve developed for the air pre-purification systems of cryogenic air separation units (ASUs).

Molecular Sieve 13X-APG

Type 13X-APG molecular sieve features optimized adsorption performance for water vapor and carbon dioxide, while also effectively adsorbing hydrogen sulfide, sulfur dioxide, light hydrocarbons, and other polar impurities. This makes it particularly suitable for protecting cryogenic equipment from ice and dry ice formation during low-temperature operation.

In cryogenic air separation processes, 13X-APG molecular sieve is typically installed in twin-tower adsorption systems, where it continuously removes moisture and carbon dioxide from compressed air before it enters the cold box. By preventing ice crystal formation and carbon dioxide solidification, 13X-APG safeguards heat exchangers, valves, pipelines, and distillation columns, ensuring reliable and efficient long-term operation of the air separation plant.

Besides cryogenic air separation, zeolite 13X-APG molecular sieve is also widely used in natural gas dehydration and purification, industrial compressed air drying, hydrogen purification, synthesis gas treatment, PSA and VPSA gas separation systems, as well as the purification of various industrial gases.
