Molecular Sieve 4A

Molecular sieve 4A refers to a synthetic crystalline aluminosilicate, also known as NaA molecular sieve or zeolite molecular sieve 4A. It is the sodium form of type A zeolite and features a uniform pore opening of approximately 4 angstroms (0.4 nm). Type 4A molecular sieve adsorbs molecules with a kinetic diameter smaller than 4 angstroms, while excludes other larger molecules.

Type 4A molecular sieve exhibits a strong affinity for polar molecules and can effectively adsorb water, ammonia, methanol, ethanol, hydrogen sulfide, carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and other small molecules. Its excellent adsorption selectivity and high water uptake capacity make it one of the most widely used industrial adsorbents and desiccants.

The key advantage of 4A molecular sieve is its exceptionally high adsorption capacity for water. And its rigid crystalline framework provides excellent thermal stability and mechanical strength, enabling repeated regeneration through heating without significant loss of adsorption performance. This significantly extends its service life and reduces operating costs in cyclic adsorption processes.

4A molecular sieve is available in various forms, including beads, strips, and other shapes, allowing it to meet different process requirements. It is extensively applied in air brake system dehydration, natural gas dehydration, solvent drying, refrigerant drying, LPG and hydrocarbon drying, and the purification and refining of numerous gases and liquids.
