DAY-120 Zeolite Catalyst

Zeolite catalyst DAY-120 or DAY-120 molecular sieve, is a kind of Dealuminated Ammonium Y-type (DAY) molecular sieve, with a super high silica-to-alumina ratio of typically 120. It is essentially an USY molecular sieve. DAY-120 maintains the FAU topology and three-dimensional macropore structure with a pore size of approximately 0.74 nm, and generally presents as a white powder.

The framework of DAY-120 zeolite contains far less aluminum than DAY-60 and DAY-30, so it it has exceptional hydrothermal stability. This structural advantage equips DAY-120 with outstanding steam resistance, extended service life and excellent regeneration capability. Although DAY-120 has fewer acid sites in total, these acid sites possess superior intrinsic quality. DAY-120 catalyst thus features moderate acidity, excellent structural stability and high reaction selectivity, which effectively suppresses side reactions and cuts down coke formation during catalytic processes.

In addition, the deep dealumination treatment creates more secondary mesopores on the DAY-120 zeolite framework. These mesopores greatly promote macromolecule diffusion and eliminate diffusion restrictions, and the optimized diffusion behavior further boosts the overall catalytic efficiency of the DAY-120 molecular sieve.

DAY-120 zeolite serves as a high-performance FCC catalyst. It delivers prominent strengths including strong anti-deactivation capacity, long operational cycles and upgraded gasoline product quality. These properties make it ideal for heavy oil cracking, residue fluid catalytic cracking and catalytic processing of high-metal feedstocks. DAY-120 zeolite catalyst also applies to hydrocracking processes for middle distillate production as well as jet fuel and diesel quality upgrading. Thanks to its mild acidity and high reaction selectivity, DAY-120 zeolite catalyst also fits fine chemical catalytic scenarios, covering aromatic conversion, isomerization and alkylation reactions.
